If you're living outside the U.S., the eBay U.S site can seem like a frustrating version of the promised land: so many amazing things to see, yet so far away and in many cases so unavailable.

One solution to this problem is the mail forwarding service—a service that charges you a small fee in exchange for receiving your eBay purchase inside the U.S., then shipping it to your non-U.S. address. This seems like an ideal solution, and for some it is, but there are also some potential complications to be aware of before you decide to use one.
