Sellers, think about how buyers shop on eBay. Think they rely heavily on eBay's search tool? (Hint: eBay knows they do.) Do they click on every last item that turns up in their search results, or do they pick and choose? Think they run a second or third search with "alternate terms" to see whether other deals are out there?

Facts are, you can spend all kinds of time doing market research, taking studio-quality photos, and building business alliances with suppliers and shippers, but given the way that most buyers shop on eBay, if your listing titles leave something to be desired, your auctions aren't going to be found or opened and your selling is not going to be competitive. Take heart, though—great listing titles require just a little bit of extra thought and consideration and lead to great rewards. Read on to find out more.
