Negative feedback is a type of eBay feedback in which the buyer or seller in a transaction publicly reports having experienced difficulty with or unsatisfactory performance from their trading partner. In short, negative feedback is a statement by an eBay member that an eBay transaction has left them unhappy.
Even a small amount negative feedback affects an eBay member's ability to trade on eBay and can outweigh lots of positive feedback, so eBay members generally strive to avoid receiving negative feedback and work to resolve disputes.
In general the feedback system is an open forum in which eBay members report honestly on mutual performance, but there are rare cases in which eBay is willing to remove feedback.
