eBay Registration (continued)

The third page of registration confirms that you have successfully completed the bulk of the registration process. To complete your registration, activate your account, and log into eBay as a full-fledged member, follow these final steps:

  • Access your email. As a part of the registration process, eBay has now sent an email message to the address that you supplied on the first page of the registration process. The email is entitled "Complete Your eBay Registration." Locate and open this email in order to proceed.

  • Click on the registration link. In the registration email that you receive, click on the prominent "Activate Your eBay Membership" link. You will be returned to the eBay website.

"Congratulations," reads the page that you'll see when you arrive once again the eBay website, "you can now bid and buy." You're now a full-fledged eBay member, ready to participate in the world's largest buying and selling community.

Before you begin buying or selling, however, you should survey the rest of the information in Getting Started, in particular the documents in Rules and Fees. To really maximize your experience, consider becoming familiar with the information in Buying Effectively, Selling Effectively, and Searching Effectively as well.

Remember to Sign Out

When you're done using eBay for the moment, be sure click on the "Sign out" link near the top of any eBay page. Always sign out when you're finished using the eBay website to ensure that no one else can use your account to buy and sell in your absence.

You can sign back in again whenever want to by visiting eBay.com and clicking on the "Sign in" link near the top of the page, then entering your eBay User ID and password when asked to do so.
