These days blogging is everywhere. Sometimes it seems as though the half of the day's hot news stories are about blogs and the other half have been broken by blogs. And why not? Blogging is fun. Blogs are a great way to share your thoughts, experiences, tips, feelings, photos—or anything else you want the world to know—with the online community.

In keeping with this spirit of sharing and communicating is eBay Blogs, eBay's own community of bloggers that's open any eBay member. If you're an avid eBay trader and have thought about starting your own personal blog, eBay Blogs may be just the place for you.

Creating and Using eBay Blogs

If you're already an eBay member, creating your personal eBay blog is easy. Just visit the Create Your Blog page and follow your nose to fill out the form. You'll be asked to select a title for your blog and a brief description of what you'll post there, and to supply a few tags, which are really just key words that express your interests and help to match you to other bloggers.

Once your blog is created, you can view it or send friends to it at any time using the address http://blogs.ebay.com/my-user-name, where "my-user-name" is replaced with your own eBay member ID. For example, if your eBay member ID is "HappyTrader2110," your eBay blog would appear at "http://blogs.ebay.com/HappyTrader2110" for visitors.

On your new eBay blog, visitors will quickly find:

  • Your most recent posts. Whatever you've recently thought or wanted to say about life, the universe, and (naturally) everything eBay will be here for your friends, family, and other traders to read.

  • Your eBay member ID and feedback score. Visitors will be able to quickly see your feedback score and star color at the top of your blog.

  • Your currently running auctions. Anything you currently have listed for sale on eBay will be easily accessible to your visitors.

  • A list of interests. The keywords (tags) you chose when you started your blog will be linked to those of other eBay bloggers, so that you and your visitors can share tips, tricks, and information with others that share your interests.

  • An RSS feed of your blog. The eBay Blogs engine also gives you an RSS link, so that if you or your friends or family like to use RSS technology to syndicate blogs, news stories, or other online information, yours is easily available.

If you're an avid eBay trader and you've ever thought about blogging, now may be the time to start!
