eBay News: eBay Pursuing Social Shopping

This week eBay's past moves in marrying social media and social shopping culminated in eBay's purchase of The Gifts Project, and Israeli social commerce start-up that powered eBay's group gifts functionality. Group gifts integrated eBay's marketplace, group contributions toward a gift purchase, and Facebook connectivity to relate the group buy to the interests of the targeted recipient. Few retailers are positioned right now to make a push in social commerce at this level, but eBay appears ready to move. More at:
