eBay News: GM's eBay Store Now Online

This week saw eBay and General Motors cooperate to open GM's new eBay store, essentially a series of eBay Motors auction listings featuring Buy It Now prices with Best Offer options. The vehicles on offer are all currently located in California, where over 200 dealerships have signed on to offer some 20,000 cars for sale on eBay as a part of the pilot program.

It remains unclear whether buyers will find car shopping through local dealerships via eBay to be more convenient or desirable than simply visiting the local dealerships or using existing online car sales services, but both GM and eBay are hoping that this pilot program will point the way toward stronger bottom lines in the future.
