eBay News: eBay to Allow Moneybookers, PayMate, ProPay

By , About.com Guide   February 5, 2009

Follow me on:

Ever since eBay's acquisition of PayPal some members have grumbled about being effectively forced to use PayPal as an online payment system if they wanted to compete as a part of the selling community. These grumbles turned to a small roar when eBay announced that checks, money orders, and many competing payment services would no longer be allowed in eBay auctions.

Grumblers, fear no more: eBay has added Moneybookers and PayMate as a partner payment services in addition to the relationship started in 2008 with ProPay, giving members not being well served by PayPal other payment alternatives once again. In combination with eBay's recent acquisition of Bill Me Later, the payment picture at eBay is increasing in diversity once more. See press releases/coverage at:

Ebay is just like the banks in this country, they ALL are nothing but greedy crooks!!! I used to accept money orders and Paypal, and to force me to use only their payment services so they can get more of my money made me stop selling on Ebay. Our government has allowed the crooks to take over this country and screw the people.

What really urks me about e-bay and paypal is paypal can just step right in a stop a payment or reverse a payment for any reason without your consent and it is left up to them…like they are judge and jury. I guess they are

Do not think for one second that ebay is doing this to apease their disgruntled customers. This is the settlement of a lawsuit against Paypal, which by the way was not aquired as this author want’s you to believe, but stared by ebay from scratch to do exactly to the letter what it has done. This marks the begining of the end of ebay. The Gov will soon tax all income from ebays sellers putting the last nail in a well deserved coffin.

I agree eBay sucks! I have been a member since 2005 and had 100% rating with over 925 positive feedbacks. Then I had one “buyer” who won an action complained about a recently graded NGC MS70 coin and would not return the coin for a refund. Threatened and left negative feedback then had his credit card company chargeback the full purchase price and keep the coin over $61. This was all fine with eBay and PayPal, they both collected and kept their fees on this transaction. So beware eBay sellers, and all you eBay crooks looks like eBay is on your side! EBay lost a good customer (me) and gain a crook. Hope this new business model works for ‘em.

Try Craigslist. I even found my car on Craigslist and went down and looked at it and bought it. Needed a lot of work because it had previously been in an accident, but for the price I paid, it was a darn good car once I fixed the worst damage from the accident it was in before I bought it.

Craigslist is better than Ebay or those crooks PayPal any day of the week.

PAYPAL SUCKS!! I have used them for 9 years, and 2 days ago they close my account. Said I was high risk, that I couldn’t sell electronics, even though I had only sold a few. Told them I wouldn’t from now on, but they didn’t want to hear it or help me. Thankfully Ebay allows Propay, Moneybookers, and Paymate. Trying to decide who to go with. Hopefully any of the three are better than Paypal. Total bitch at Paypal with an attitude. I hate PAYPAL and PAYPAL SUCKS!!! Good bye Paypal…sucked the last dime out of me.

Ebay & Paypal are the epitomy of Big Business in America. They respond to two stimuli only, court orders ad the bottom line. If you are naive enough to this these bloated “banker” sorporations are in it for the little guy, guess again.

Recently a dealer In Rome, Emira50 sent me (1) order in (4) seperate packets. Though very late the first three came . The fourth did not. He begged me NOT to file a dispute and when I finally did, my legal limitations to do s had expired….even though this was (1) order and not 4 different sales. Thye both back the little SOB and now, he stuck me with over $217.xx. Now I hate Italian food and wine!
