Buying and Selling with Want It Now

Sunday August 6, 2006
For the most part, eBay is an embarassingly rich shopper's market—for every search a buyer runs, dozens of potential purchases are returned. A few buyers, however, have had the frustrating experience of trying for days or even weeks to find an item on eBay only to encounter empty search after empty search.

Such circumstances demand alternative solutions, and eBay provides one: Want It Now. With Want It Now, prospective buyers can post 60-day listings at no charge detailing a purchase that they'd like to make. Sellers who have such an item to offer can then post a listing in response, without having to have risked posting an otherwise rare or unusual item that might under normal circumstances never have sold.
